DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (AP) — Lake Region State College in Devils Lake has dismissed head softball coach Ben Morris for allegedly having inappropriate relationships.

The Devils Lake Journal reports the college hasn't released further details of its investigation. Morris' contract with the school ended June 30 and the administration says it chose not to renew it.  A home telephone listing for the 28-year-old Morris couldn't be found.

WDAZ-TV reports the college also is considering disciplinary action against three faculty members for allegedly failing to report information they knew.

The recommendations follow the investigation into claims Morris was involved in a consensual relationship. The investigation began June 27 and has since concluded, according to a news release issued Thursday.

Loyd Halvorson, the school's vice president of academic and student affairs, recommended Athletic Director Danny Mertens and Student Services Director Stephanie Shock be suspended without pay, while head volleyball coach Brigitte Greywater receive a formal written reprimand.  In his remarks, Halvorson indicated Morris' relationship was with a student.  He said the school has launched a review of its policies and procedures regarding such incidents.

A decision on the disciplinary actions will be  made next week.
