JAMESTOWN – Jamestown business owner and former city council member, Dwaine Heinrich is running for mayor.
In a statement on Friday, Heinrich says that after considerable consideration and encouragement from a number of Jamestown residents, he will start circulating petitions to get his name on the June 2018 ballot.
Heinrich has turned over ownership and management of the business he started in 1980 in Jamestown to “one of our valued employees.” He says that will allow him more time to commit to the duties of mayor and the city’s business.
“I look forward to putting my over 40 years of business experience and over 35 years of successfully operating my own business to work for Jamestown as we together face the difficult challenges before us,” Heinrich writes in his announcement.
Petitions have to be submitted to city hall by April 9.
