KC Teams to Move Stadiums?

A new bill was passed in the state of Kansas, that would allow the state to pursue possible new stadium and practice facilities for both the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals.

Kansas bipartisan legislative supermajorities OK’d the measure to authorize state bonds to help finance new stadiums and practice facilities for both teams on the Kansas side of the metropolitan area of 2.3 million residents.

The Republican lead plan still has to be approved through Democratic Governor Laura Kelly. Originally Kelly made no promises to signing the bill, but after the ramifications of the deal have become more clear, Kelly may be more willing to sign saying, “Kansas now has the opportunity to become a sports powerhouse.”

The Kansas City Royals will notably benefit from this move, they have been asking for a new stadium from officials in Missouri but continue to be denied of the agreement.

One thing that could put a small wrench in the plans is the home of the Kansas City Chiefs, and one of the most storied and loudest stadiums in the United States, Arrowhead Stadium. Arrowhead has become one of the premiere home field advantages in league with not only their loud fans, but the elements playing a factor while some teams are moving to domed roofs.

Will the two time defending champs be on the move across the river? Do Chiefs fans wanna see the doors close on Arrowhead Stadium? Will Missouri fight back trying to keep the teams? Some good questions to be answered during the long NFL offseason.
