Throughout the years, sports fans who have cheered long enough, sometimes get to see something quite special on the field, court, or diamond that seems to be happening more and more as the years go by. Father and son goes together like football and Sunday. And we may be seeing a new generation of father and son, not on a field, diamond or court, but on the COURSE.

We’ve heard speculation that the arguably greatest of all time in the NBA Lebron James, may be seeing his son Bronny joining him in the Association soon, but another GOAT is seeing his son prosper before his eyes.

Tiger Woods, 15x major winner, and Hall of Famer, has slowed down in the last couple of years of his career as retirement may loom in the distance, but his son Charlie’s career is only just beginning.

Charlie Woods, recently qualified for his first USGA Championship tournament when he had the leading score among qualifiers for the U.S. Junior Amateur next month at Oakland Hills.

Charlie only 15, is starting off his career similar to his father, who qualified for the same event when he was 14.

The U.S. Junior Amateur is July 22-28 at Oakland Hills near Detroit and Charlie Woods will be among 264 players who will go through 36 holes of stroke play to determine which 64 players will advance to match play.

“The USGA means a lot to me,” Charlie Woods said. “I want to win USGA championships and hopefully one day the U.S. Open.”
