North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum has appointed two people to positions on the state Board of Higher Education.  Donald ‘D.J.’ Campbell will serve a four year term beginning on July 1.  Campbell has been a vice president of human resources at Sanford Health since 2020.  Burgum says that Campbell’s background in business and workforce recruitment led him to make the appointment.  University of North Dakota student Maxwell Eriksrud was also appointed to a one-year term as the board’s mandatory student member.   Erikrud is double-majoring in accounting and entrepreneurship and will graduate in 2026.   Burgum says Maxwell’s financial acumen and heavy involvement in campus life were factors in his appointment.  The Board of Higher Education has eight voting members, all appointed by the governor.
