“Keep It Local” Coalition Established To Oppose Property Tax Measure

Over 60 organizations have united to oppose a proposed measure that seeks to eliminate property taxes in North Dakota. Calling themselves the “Keep It Local” coalition, they are concerned that the initiative would restrict political entities from imposing property taxes. Keep It Local argues that property taxes generate $1.3 billion annually, a sum that cannot be replaced. The “End Unfair Property Tax” initiative has until June 29th to gather enough signatures to qualify for the November ballot.
