During the Final Hole at the PGA Travelers Championship this last weekend, climate protesters stormed the green of the 18th hole in Cromwell, Connecticut, to announce their presence and leave their mark on the day.

As the golfers approached to putt their final hole of the course, the protesters entered the area from all directions releasing smoke bombs that sent dust of white and red through the air, while also marking up the putting green. Protesters wore shirts that said various statements notably one individual who’s shirt said “NO GOLF ON A DEAD PLANET.”

The protesters were met with cheers, boos, and profanity as police intervened trying to stop the situation that was already well developed.

The PGA Tour issued a statement thanking the Cromwell Police Department “for their quick and decisive action” also noting that there was no damage to the 18th green and no individuals were hurt.
