North Dakota Could Get New Interstate

By Kaitlyn Huss Jun 25, 2024 | 6:11 AM

Representative Kelly Armstrong has announced that North Dakota might be getting a new interstate. The project aims to transform the Theodore Roosevelt Expressway in the western part of the state into a segment of I-27, extending from the Canadian border to the US-Mexico border. Supporters argue that this development would enhance shipping efficiency, benefiting North Dakota’s economy. Although the state has obtained $55 million in federal funding for the project, it still requires approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation.
