A New Arm on its Way to the Twins

The Minnesota Twins have decided to call up their top pitching prospect as starting pitcher Chris Paddack was put on the 15 Day IL with right forearm fatigue.

With an arm missing from the starting lineup, the Twins have called up, 24 year old right handed pitcher David Festa, and depending on who you ask, Festa could be here to stay.

Festa was drafted by the Twins from Seton Hall in the 2021 MLB Draft at the 399th Overall pick, and has been dominant during his time with the Twins’ minor league affiliate team, the St. Paul Saints.

Festa has pitched 59.2 innings, while holding a record of 3-2 in 14 starts while also holding a 3.77 ERA and 87 strikeouts while in St. Paul.

The expectation is for Festa to make his MLB Debut on Thursday when the Twins finish up a 3 Game Series on the West Coast taking on the Arizona Diamondbacks. Could we see the next great arm joining the Twins starting lineup of Pablo Lopez, Joe Ryan, and Simeon Woods-Richardson? Time will certainly tell especially come Thursday.
