A Bold Prediction?

Ask any Minnesota Vikings fan, and more times than none you’ll be greeted with the same snarky, cold, and disgusted look and tone when asked the question, “How many Superbowl’s have the Vikings won?”

Unfortunately for the Purple and Gold Faithful, the answer still in the teams 64 year history, is zero.

Many years have come and gone with Vikings fans sharing in the quote all sports fans have said at one point or another, “This is our year”, and still in 2024 it has not been their year.

Coming off a disappointing 7-10 season after losing quarterback Kirk Cousins to a season ending Achilles tear and again in free agency, the Vikings are looking for a fresh face in J.J. McCarthy to lead the team going into the 2024 season with newly re-signed Justin Jefferson.

But one Minnesota Vikings player expressed his belief that that one missing trophy in the case, could be on its way to Minnesota this year.

Safety Cameron Bynum is the believer in the Vikings locker-room saying, ““I expect a Super Bowl, everybody says that, and everybody should say that. But you look at the guys on the team, you look at the locker room, all the experience we have. Look how much depth we have, especially on the defense. So many guys. It’s almost weird looking around, you’re like, OK how are we all going to get on the field? There’s just so many ballers.”

Bynum, playing on the defensive side of the ball, also has confidence in the offense on the other side of the ball, “You look at the offense. There’s a baller at every position when you look across the whole board. That’s why I’m confident when I say I expect us to be a Super Bowl team. But really, our preparation has to tell it all. You say that every year. Every team says that every year, but we have to put all these names and everything. We have to make it real.”

Confidence is key, and this kind of confidence in a TEAM, and in an offense presumably about to be lead by a rookie quarterback, and playing in one of the leagues toughest divisions is exactly what you want to hear as a supporter that has waited 64 long years to put a trophy in the case that has eluded the Vikings organization.
