A federal disaster declaration for Minnesota was approved following severe storms and flooding in the region.  Governor Tim Walz announced 22 counties were approved for the funding over the weekend by President Biden and FEMA.  Money will go towards debris removal, repairs, and preventative measures and infrastructure for future storms.  Agencies are still gathering information to assess total damage across the state, but early estimates are in the tens to hundreds of millions of dollars.
