EPA Awards Over $2.4 Million to North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality

FARGO – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded $2,427,167 to the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality to support various programs and initiatives.

Of the total funds, $2,147,167 will be allocated to performing delegated program activities, conducting quality assurance efforts, and maintaining regional and national databases associated with environmental programs. These activities are essential for ensuring compliance and effectiveness in protecting North Dakota’s environment.

Additionally, $280,000 will be directed towards North Dakota’s Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) Prevention program. This program focuses on leak detection, prevention, and related enforcement activities to safeguard the environment from potential contamination caused by underground storage tanks.

The awarded funds will help enhance the state’s ability to manage and improve its environmental quality through these critical programs.
