The Boston Celtics fresh off their NBA Finals Championship defeating the Dallas Mavericks in 5 games, have had an already busy offseason when it comes to keeping key pillars on the Boston team around for the years to come.

To start, in 2023, the Boston Celtics already signed Jaylen Brown to a record extension, who finished the Finals as the MVP Trophy winner, leaving people wondering what would happen with Browns running mate in the backcourt, Jayson Tatum.

After bringing home his first championship ring and living up to the expectations that the Boston sports crowd applies to players, Jayson Tatum and the Celtics signed a contract extension, keeping Tatum in Boston, and setting a leagues record. Tatum signed a 5 year, $314 million dollar deal making him the leagues highest paid player in NBA history in terms of contracts total value.

To add to the keeping of Tatum, the Celtics earlier in the day announced that they would be extending another key player in the Celtics 2024 Championship run, guard Derrick White for 4 years, 126 Million.

The Celtics, for the passed four years have had a solid core of players to build a championship team around, matched with key free agent signings like Kristaps Porzingis, the keeping of those pillar players ensures Boston Celtics fans have the luck of the Irish on their side for seasons to come.
