Emergency crews in Fargo responded to reports of a man swimming in the Red River on Monday. Officials have been warning residents of high water and dangerous currents that make the river a danger to residents and visitors. An unidentified man disregarded those warnings and was found swimming in the water near 4th Street South in the afternoon. The man was able to swim to shore after the fire department responded, and he was evaluated by EMS. The man then left without incident or being charged with any crime. Multiple roads remained closed around the river as flood danger continues to be high.
