West Fargo, ND — A Kenworth cement truck traveling eastbound on Interstate 94 overturned near the Sheyenne Street interchange today. The incident occurred when the truck drove over a soft asphalt patch, causing the driver to lose control and the vehicle to roll onto its side, blocking the left lane and scattering debris across both travel lanes.

The driver, who was evaluated on the scene by Sanford Ambulance, was wearing his seat belt and only sustained minor injuries. He did not require transportation to a hospital.

Traffic on Interstate 94 was reduced to one lane for approximately two hours as the North Dakota Department of Transportation (ND DOT) and a tow company worked to clear the scene and recover the overturned vehicle.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) is continuing to investigate the crash.
