North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum spoke with the press at the Republican National Convention days after being spurned for a vice presidential nomination. Burgum indicated former President Trump promised him a cabinet position, saying Trump called him Mr. Secretary in a recent phone call. Burgum deflected, saying he was running for vice president, not a cabinet position. He told reporters he has 151 days left as governor and considers that his day job and responsibility. He also said he is focusing on getting Mr. Trump elected this fall.
