Minnesota Twins First Half Breakdown

The Minnesota Twins will return to compete in their second half of the MLB season this Saturday after the conclusion to the all star break.

The Twins showed promise after a slow start to the season finding themselves just 4.5 games out of the lead for the AL Central when the first half of the season concluded on Sunday.

Here is a run down of the first half stats for your Minnesota Twins.

The Twins ended the first half of the season with a 54-42 record, Home has been where the Twins have played the best posting a 27-18 while at Target Field, and a not so flashy record of 27-24 on the road, despite outscoring opponents this season, 466-419. The Twins hung around 3rd place for a majority of the start of the season, and snuck into second place later in June.

Your Hitting Leaders for the Twins have been pretty consistent through the first half of the season consisting of names like Carlos Correa, Ryan Jeffers, and Willie Castro. Royce Lewis showed at times to be the lead man when it comes to swinging the bat for the Twins, but Lewis has only played in 24 games this season.

Batting Average currently belongs to the scorching hot Carlos Correa at .308.

Hits belonging to Willie Castro with 90.

Your Homerun leader for the Twins is Ryan Jeffers who has been in an ongoing battle with Carlos Santana for the lead with 14.

Carlos Correa also leads the Twins in Runs Batted In with 47.

On the Pitching side of things, the Twins have been led by Ace Pitcher Pablo Lopez as well as Joe Ryan, and a new name that has made his presence known to the Twins rotation, Simeon Woods-Richardson. Bailey Ober has also been a consistent source for a starting pitcher, but the question remains for the Twins going into the second half is, will the Bullpen hold?

Pablo Lopez leads the Twins pitchers in Wins with 8, and an ERA of 5.11.

Joe Ryan lead the pitchers with an ERA of 3.53, as well as strikeouts with 124.

Johan Duran is the main save man for the Twins with 15 total saves in the first half, and Griffin Jax has been the one responsible for the most holds with 15 as well.

The Twins will return home on Saturday for a two game series with the Milwaukee Brewers, as well as series’ with the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Detroit Tigers next week.
