Mauer Joins Hall of Fame this Weekend

Fan Favorite of the Minnesota Twins for years Joe Mauer, will cement his legacy as an all time great for Minnesota this weekend when he is inducted into the Pro Baseball Hall of Fame on Saturday.

Joining Mauer will be, third baseman best known for his time in Texas Adrian Beltre, First Baseman of the Colorado Rockies Todd Helton, and longtime manager of the Detroit Tigers, Florida Marlins, and Pittsburgh Pirates, Jim Leyland.

Mauer played his whole 15 year career in Minnesota as a catcher and first baseman in his later years. Mauer batted a career average of  .306, while collecting 2,123 Total Hits, and 143 homeruns. Mauer also was the winner of the 2009 AL MVP award, and was a 6x All Star, 3x Gold Glover Winner, a 5x Silver Slugger Winner, and a 3x holder of the batting title.

Mauer will become the 38th member of the Minnesota Twins to be inducted in the Pro Baseball Hall of Fame, joining the likes of Kirby Puckett, Harmon Killebrew, and Rod Carew.
