More training camps have gone underway with rookies reporting. And one time brought in the 2024 NFL season with their full team reporting to camp. The Houston Texans were the first team to fully report for camp, and according to the Texans’ leader behind center, trouble may be brewing down in Texas.

As the season begins, one team on the radar is the Houston Texans, after finishing 10-7 and winning the AFC South, and a couple of offseason moves has put the Texans in talk for playoff contention. When quarterback C.J. Stroud was asked about what he thought of the Texans offense going into 2024, Stroud was quoted saying “It’s a five-headed monster.” This is in reference to Stroud being surrounded by wide receivers Tank Dell, Nico Collins, and newly acquired Stefon Diggs, tight end Dalton Schultz, and newly acquired running back Joe Mixon.

The Jacksonville Jaguars were also in the news for a couple of reasons. One, releasing a new ‘Throwback’ uniform based on the teams debut uniform in 1995. The “Prowler” Throwbacks will make their debuts in Week 5 when the Jags take on Indianapolis. The Jaguars were also in the news for a suit they filed against a former employee who stole $22 Million Dollars from the team. The Jaguars will be suing for $66.6 Million Dollars in damages after Amit Patel, an employee who oversaw the team’s virtual credit card program, plead guilty in federal court in December for stealing more than $22 million from the team over a 3 year period to pay off his own gambling debts and make high dollar purchases.

And in some NON-NFL News, after his retirement this spring, the University of Alabama has decided to name its field at Bryan-Denny Stadium after former Head Coach Nick Saban. Saban won 6 National Championships, produced 4 Heisman winners, and went 201-29 during his 17 seasons with the Tide.
