Royce Lewis’ 2024 season has been the epitome of up and down. After starting off great on opening day, Lewis would injure his quad and miss a month and a half. After he returned and had some solid production in the Twins lineup, Lewis would again injure his abductor overcompensating for the other injuries he was dealing with and put him on the shelf for almost another month.

Lewis showed frustration after his latest injury, telling reporters he would try anything to get this ‘bug’ fixed, even referencing going on the ‘Babe Ruth Diet’ in order to quit missing so much significant time. No Babe Ruth Diet has started, but on the side of good news, the third baseman and former number one overall pick, may be on his way back to the Twins lineup yet again.

The Twins announced that Lewis would be making a trip to St. Paul to play in a rehab game tonight, with hopes after that Lewis is ready to go and could join the lineup on the main roster this coming weekend when the Twins travel to Detroit to take on the Tigers.

When he was available, Lewis was averaging .292, with 26 hits, and 10 homeruns, being a viable and relied on source of offense for the Twins, however, Lewis has only played in 24 games. With Carlos Correa missing time with a foot issue, now would be a perfect time for Lewis to return and fill the gap in offense Correa was providing in the absence of Lewis.
