Small towns in North Dakota are being recognized as some of the world’s best.  The World Atlas publication recently ranked the best small city downtowns in the country.  Valley City earned top recognition in North Dakota with The City of Bridges gaining attention for the Barnes County Historical Museum and the scenic trails around the Sheyenne River.   Medora, Lisbon, Rugby, Mayville, and Garrison were also included in the state’s list.   The World Atlas noted that these towns across North Dakota are worthy of a visit for what they described as a ‘pioneer spirit’, vibrant downtowns, and old traditions that mix with modern day amenities.
