The U.S. Army Corps on Engineers announced they will increase flows from the Jamestown and Pipestem Dams immediately.   The reservoirs behind those dams have seen an over 150% increase in precipitation over the past four months, causing elevations to slowly-but-consistently rise.  The Army Corps Omaha district decided a combined increase in release of 1,000 cubic feet per second from the two dams should allow water levels in the reservoirs to stabilize, and avoid flood stages.  Additional adjustments may be made in the coming weeks to avoid overflowing the downriver portions of those waterways.
