Grand Forks Air Force Base will be the base of operations for 160 satellites operated by the Space Development Agency by the end of next year. Senator John Hoeven recently joined SDA director Derek Tournear on a tour of the new Operations Center North, which is set to be completed next month. The satellites will be part of the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture, which is a high-speed communications network. Officials say Grand Forks could be the base of operation for 250 satellites by 2027.
