Minnesota Vikings training camp is in full swing, and here are some whispers and other news worth things to take away from the purple people eaters.

  1. JJ McCarthy is living up to his expectation as a first round draft pick, its not just media and fans saying that, but its his teammates as well. Offensive Lineman Dalton Risner was quoted saying, “J.J., I mean, I see why they drafted the dude in the first round and at the pick that they did. Because he’s a good dude. He’s a good human being. He’s a stud,” a great endorsement from a guy who will be protecting McCarthy in the coming weeks as the Vikings enter preseason with their first game on the 10th against Las Vegas.
  2. Aaron Jones was asked how he is feeling after checking in to his first Minnesota Vikings training camp, Jones said he loves it, and is ready to keep moving on in his first season with the Vikings after spending the last 7 years in green and gold apart of the Green Bay Packers. Jones was signed this offseason after the Packers made a move to bring in Josh Jacobs and asked Jones to take a pay cut.
  3. The kicking competition is also reportedly over after Parker Romo an offseason signing, announced on social media he was being let go from the team. The Vikings drafted Alabama Kicker and College Footballs all time leading scorer Will Reichard to the team in the 2024 Draft, and Reichard reportedly has won the competition and will be the Vikings starting kicker going into 2024.
