NDSU returning quarterback Cam Miller was named to the watch list for the Walter Payton Award, along with 35 other athletes in the FCS.
The award recognizes the national offensive player of the year in Division 1 FCS football, and Miller is joined by other athletes up for the award including; South Dakota State’s Mark Gronowski, Tommy Mellot of Montana State, and Zach Calzada of Incarnate Word.
Miller made a strong case for consideration in 2023, finishing 11th in voting, with 2600+ yards passing, throwing for 19 touchdowns, and rushing for 13.
Entering the season Miller is 31-9 as the starter for NDSU, with a National Championship under his belt in 2021.
