Preseason games will return tomorrow in the NFL, here’s some more updates from training camps around the league.

-The Detroit Lions and the New York Giants were both fined $200,000 dollars from NFL after both teams participated in multiple fights during their joint practices this week. Clips filled social media of the numerous brawls both the teams were having, and the league finally had to step in and say enough is enough. Detroit and New York will play each other in their first taste of Preseason action on Thursday.

-The New England Patriots also announced they will be backing out in the sweepstakes for available trade target from the San Francisco 49ers, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. New England was the reported front runner for Aiyuk, but recently stated they wanna roll with the talent they already have on the team, and save some money. The Pittsburgh Steelers have emerged as the new favorites to pick up the pass catcher looking for a new contract, along with the Cleveland Browns who were interested when they news was brought to light.

-Speaking of the Steelers, they announced that Justin Fields will get the start versus the Houston Texans in Pittsburgh’s first game on the preseason. This immediately was met with questions of whether Fields is the new signal caller in Pittsburgh, but the team assured that Russell Wilson as of right now, IS still the first string quarterback on the Steelers roster.

-San Francisco All-Pro running back Christian McCaffery was reported to have suffered a calf injury in practice that will keep him out of all preseason games leading into the season. McCaffery wasn’t expected to play a lot of snaps in the preseason but the possibility is now out the window. Head Coach Kyle Shanahan said that the injury isn’t a pull or a tear of any kind, and to not expect McCaffery to be playing until the season opener against the New York Jets.
