Twins’ Buxton Possibly Injured Too

By Ryan King Aug 14, 2024 | 7:52 AM

The injury bug has been hard, consistent, and unforgiving to the Minnesota Twins in the last week. Carlos Correa is still out, after leaving the twins lineup on July 12th. And in the last week, the Twins have lost starting Pitcher Joe Ryan, Infielder Brooks Lee, and now may be losing Outfielder Byron Buxton for a little bit of time.

Buxton left Monday nights game against the Royals early, and noted hip discomfort as his reason for leaving the game. Buxton would get an MRI, missing Tuesdays night game, and is now listed as day to day with the hip injury. There has been no update if the Twins will place him on the 10, or 15 Day IL.

Buxton was noted as playing the third most amount of games since he’s been in the league, as most Twins fans know, much like Royce Lewis, the highly touted outfielder has a consistent history with injuries and missing time away from the lineup.

The timing of the injuries is always the pain, the Twins have been locked in a battle with both Cleveland, and Kansas City for first and second place in the division, and currently Buxton was one of the teams leading contributors on offense, batting .275 with 16 homeruns. Hopefully this team can return some star power soon to keep them in contention for an AL Central crown, as well as a wild card spot.
