Mold Warning For Mandan-Bismarck Area

By Seth Dunlap Aug 20, 2024 | 7:58 AM

The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality is asking people in the Mandan-Bismarck area to keep an eye out for mold. Many homes and businesses in the region were flooded by a slow-moving rainstorm last week, and experts say mold often grows in the aftermath of floods. They say you should watch out for symptoms like coughing, sore throat, breathing problems, congestion, and skin irritation, especially in children in the elderly. The department says scrubbing your house down with non-ammonia detergent is the best way to stop mold from growing.
