The sport of High School football in the state of North Dakota has officially returned, and here’s my top 5 games I’m paying attention to tonight!
#2 Velva Drake Anamoose Garrison @ #1 Kindred
- What a way to kick off the season with the #1 and #2 teams in Class A squaring off for dominance right away.
#5 Dickinson @ #4 Grand Forks Red River
- Another Top 5 matchup this time from Class AA, Dickinson will make the long trip up to Grand Forks for a possible shift in the polls next week.
#2 Shanley @ Mandan
- Shanley is coming off a devasting loss in the State Championship Game against Minot, and will look to rebound this year, against a team I’m expecting to flirt with the top 5 in the state Mandan.
#4 Bismarck @ Fargo North
- Fargo North makes the shift to AAA this season after winning the State Championship in AA last year, can North compete with the power house Demons, after losing one of their star players that went on to play for the Bison?

#5 Cavalier @ Nelson County
- Which team will pull ahead in the race for 5th place? South Border is coming of a State Championship appearance, will they be able to keep up the pace? Or will one of there fellow 5th place teams be able to set themselves ahead of the Mustangs?
