RON JORDAN, KSJB LOCAL NEWS-

The North Dakota Forest Service (NDFS) is concerned for the health of the state’s ash trees after the recent discovery of an invasive beetle that has arrived in North Dakota for the first time.

Last year, the Emerald Ash Borer was found in some trees in neighboring Moorhead, Minnesota, before last month’s discovery in Edgeley.  NDFS is now working with communities in the Southeastern North Dakota county of LaMoure to help monitor other ash trees in the area.
