The North Dakota State University football program, announced that after an incident that involved one of it’s football players over the weekend, they would be dismissing second year linebacker Jaiden Pickett.

Pickett was involved in a shooting incident that happened early Sunday morning where reports said that an argument ensued between individuals, and a shot was fired. Nobody was hurt during the incident, but officers responded to the call, and made the arrest of Pickett.

According to reports, Pickett was seen arguing with two others outside of the house, and after heated discussion between the three, Picket pulled out a handgun and shot at the house, nearly hitting two people that were sitting outside. Witnesses also stated that Pickett was seen pointing the gun right at the individuals involved in the altercation.

Police say Picket denied the shooting allegation, and later would invoke his right to no more questions being asked.

NDSU would announce on Tuesday that Pickett would be dismissed from the team, saying ““Being a student-athlete at NDSU is a privilege that comes with an expectation of representing the team and the university in a positive manner while being a responsible member of our community. After learning the facts surrounding Jaiden’s arrest, we have determined that he violated our student-athlete code of conduct and will no longer be a member of the Bison football program. We appreciate the work of the Fargo Police Department on this matter.”
