The North Dakota State Board of Higher Education has decided to extend Dickinson State University’s interim Acting President Ty Orton’s contract for another 30 days. This comes after the board decided against hiring any of the four finalists they interviewed for the full-time role. DSU has been searching for a replacement since former President Steve Easton resigned in August, after being embroiled in a controversy around departures in the school’s nursing program. The state Board of Higher Education will continue it’s search into the fall. No deadline has been set to find a replacement, and Orton’s contract could again be extended in October.
