By Ryan King Sep 25, 2024 | 8:09 AM

The Minnesota Lynx will play Game 2 of their series with the Phoenix Mercury tonight with a chance to move on to the next round, entering tonight’s game with a 1-0 series lead.

The Lynx would get a  102-95 victory in Game 1, and Napheesa Collier answered the call leading the team in scoring with 38 points, and 6 rebounds. Kayla McBride would also play complimentary basketball scoring 20. The Lynx led the game in Free Throws made going 24-25, and 30 assists as a team to Phoenix’s 19.

In order to keep themselves in the series, Phoenix will need to slow down and defend Napheesa Collier and force the Lynx to turn to another contributor on offense like Kayla McBride, or Bridget Carleton. Phoenix’s playmakers will also need to step up in this game to keep the season alive, including Diana Taurasi who’s more than likely playing one of her last games, as well as Britney Griner, and Kahleah Copper.

With a win, the Lynx would await the winner of the Connecticut Sun, and the Indiana Fever series. With a loss, the Lynx would play Game 3 with a chance to move on, on Friday.
