A North Dakota man will spend eight years in prison for kidnapping a woman in Forman. Ryan Bergh of Havana kidnapped Melissa Birnbaum at gunpoint In October of 2023 after she finished her shift at Deuces bar in Foreman. The next day, Bergh reportedly drove her to the county sheriff’s house, gave her a loaded gun and asked her to shoot him. Instead the sheriff intervened and Bergh was arrested. On Tuesday, Bergh was sentenced to eight years in prison for kidnapping, assault, and reckless endangerment.
