The pickings might be thin, but we still have some games on Friday night and this weekend to look forward to, despite many teams playing games on Thursday. The Playoffs are just about set for AAA-A, and 9-man begins this Saturday. Here are my Top 5 Games that are being played Friday and Saturday in High School Football in North Dakota!
- #5 Ellendale-Edgeley-Kulm @ #4 Central Cass (A)
- Both teams enter the matchup at 7-1 with Central Cass’s #4 spot up for grabs. Both teams only blemish is a loss to Kindred, and the A playoffs are drawing near, who will survive this Top 5 Matchup and be the 4 team heading into next week?
2. South Border @ Hettinger County (9-Man)
- A rematch of the quarterfinal from last season, this time at Hettinger County, can the Wolves get their revenge after a close loss to South Border last year? South Border had a bumpy road to get to the playoffs but have been here before, can they pick up where they left in last years playoffs and get back to the dome?
3.Carrington @ Bottineau (A)
- Carrington is paying attention to the number 1 game listed above, with a win, they presumably would jump into the number 5 spot depending on the outcome of EEK and Central Cass.
4. Kenmare-Bowbells Burke Central @ Alexander (9-Man)
- Both teams were under the radar for many since the 9-man class is so top heavy, but this matchup catches my eye. Kenmare enters at 5-3, and Alexander 6-2, who can move on to the next round and take on one of the powerhouses of 9-Man this season Westhope/Newburg/Glenburn?
5. Wahpeton @ Fargo South/ Grand Forks Central @ Devils Lake
- I tied this one, both Wahpeton and Devils Lake need a quality win in order to get into the Top 5 of AA, with both Jamestown and Valley City losing on Thursday night, the teams could be able to sneak into the Top 5 one week before the playoffs begin.
We will have the Prep Sports Roundup tonight from 7-10! Also on our sister station MIX 93.3 we will have the #1 game listed above EEK and Central Cass live broadcast starting at 6:40. You can listen to the Prep Sports Roundup from 7-10 on KSJB 100.1 FM and 600 AM.
