Scam Letters Hit Watford City, Police Warn

By Patrick McColl Oct 21, 2024 | 1:09 PM

The Watford City Police Department is warning area residents about scam letters sent to local mail addresses.

The police say letters will appear to come from a business which has products that will offer you a reward if you complete a survey. The letters contain a QR code to scan. The police say not to scan the QR code as it may offer the scammer access to personal or financial information in your phone.

If you’ve received such a letter or if you have questions, you’re asked to contact the Watford City Police Department.
