By Ryan King Oct 23, 2024 | 8:50 AM

The New-Look Minnesota Timberwolves made their 2024 season debut on opening night in the NBA, taking on the “King” Lebron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Minnesota entered the matchup with a new lineup after the late offseason trade of Karl Anthony Towns to the Knicks in exchange for New York’s Julius Randle, and Donte DiVencenzo, of course accompanied by superstar Anthony Edwards.

Randle and DiVencenzo weren’t the only ones making their debut with a new team, Lebron James also welcomed his son Bronny to the professional basketball court, making history in the NBA.

The game was relatively close, but the Wolves offense would sputter in the second quarter only scoring 19 to Los Angeles’ 33, the Lakers would not give up the lead and win the game 110-103.

Anthony Edwards to nobody’s surprise was the  Wolves leading scorer with 27 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. In his Timberwolves debut Julius Randle added 16 points and 9 rebounds, as well as Donte DiVencenzo coming off the bench to score 10.

Anthony Davis was a nightmare below the basket against the Timberwolves defense scoring a game high 36 points and 16 rebounds. Lebron James would finish with 16, and his son Bronny was not a factor coming off the bench to score 0 points and only playing 3 minutes in the game.

The Timberwolves start their season 0-1, and will travel to Sacramento to take on the Kings on Thursday night.
