After wildfires hit North Dakota, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, known as PETA, have sent Governor Doug Burgum a message that they believe he should ditch meat to combat the extreme weather that contributes to natural disasters like wildfires.
The action follows up on a statement from PETA which argued that North Dakota’s “Beef Month” in May is a bad idea since the United Nations says about a third of all human-caused greenhouse gas emissions are linked to food production, mostly from the meat and dairy industries.
