President-elect Donald Trump announced Friday that North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum will lead the Interior Department and a newly created National Energy Council.
Burgum will oversee a panel that is involved in energy production, generation, distribution, regulation and transportation. Burgum will have a seat on the National Security Council, Trump said.
Trump has stated he is looking to reinstate a policy of “energy dominance,” which would allow the U.S. to sell oil, gas and other forms of energy to European allies.
