FCS Football Playoff Preview!

The regular season is officially over in the FCS this season, and the teams still alive are preparing for the upcoming FCS playoffs that will begin the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Here is a look at the teams that made it, and the potential matchups we could see in the playoffs this season.

Seedings- 

These Teams were seeded 1-8 and will have a first round bye, and will await the winners of the first round that will start on Saturday. 

  1. Montana State
  2. North Dakota State
  3. South Dakota State
  4. University of South Dakota
  5. UC Davis
  6. Incarnate Word
  7. Mercer
  8. Idaho

These Teams are seeded 9-16, and will host in the first round of the FCS playoffs this Saturday. 

9. Richmond

10. Rhode Island

11. Villanova

12. Illinois State

13. Tarleton State

14. Montana

15. Abilene Christian

16. New Hampshire

These Teams will travel to Teams 9-16 this Saturday in the first round. 

UT Martin

Lehigh

Northern Arizona

Central Connecticut State

Southeast Missouri State

Drake

Tennessee State

Eastern Kentucky

 

First Round Matchups 

These will be the opening round matchups, and who they would play with a victory next week. 

UT Martin @ 16 New Hampshire – Winner Plays 1 Montana State

Lehigh @ 9 Richmond – Winner Plays 8 Idaho

Northern Arizona @ 15 Abilene Christian – Winner Plays 2 North Dakota State

Central Connecticut @ 10 Rhode Island – Winner Plays 7 Mercer

Southeast Missouri State @ 12 Illinois State – Winner Plays 5 UC Davis 

Drake @ 13 Tarleton State – Winner Plays 4 University of South Dakota

Tennessee State @ 14 Montana – Winner Plays 3 South Dakota State 

Eastern Kentucky @ 11 Villanova – Winner Plays 6 Incarnate Word
