Minot Police Chief Cleared Of Most Wrongdoing In New Report

The Minot Chief of Police has been embroiled in controversy surrounding what some claim is a hostile work environment.

Chief John Klug is accused of inconsistent discipline and fostering bad morale inside the Minot Police Department.   Klug was placed on administrative leave in September while a third party investigator from Chicago looked into the allegations.

The investigative report has now been released, and it’s cleared Klug of most wrongdoing.  The report states that he acted properly with his discipline, and there was no credible information to support a hostile work environment based on race, age, sex, or other protected status.

The report recommended a new incident management system that could be handled by the city manager.   Klug has not commented on the report.
