According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, there were over 300 incidents and accidents related to the storms moving through the state from Tuesday to Wednesday. These incidents included crashes, abandoned vehicles, and motor assists, where vehicles may have slid into ditches or were stuck on the road.
With more snow in the forecast, the highway patrol says that people should prepare further ahead of time for any incidents. Precautions include having more than half a tank of gas, clearing your tail pipe to avoid carbon monoxide poising, and keeping a phone charger with you. Officials also urge residents to let others know your travel plans and to stay in your vehicle if you are stuck.
