According to a new statewide poll, North Dakotans are supportive of free school meals, funding childcare initiatives and helping build more affordable housing. The poll was taken by the North Dakota News Cooperative.
82% of responded favored free school meals for children. A total of 65% strongly favored providing free meals at schools. 61% of respondents support state involvement in child care. 34% strongly supported this move while 21% strongly opposed it. In regard to housing, 68% believed the state should give more support.
The most controversial choice was in regards to schooling. 45% of respondents supported using public dollars to support private schools while 44% were in opposition.
