CHS Inc., the largest U.S. farmer-owned cooperative, is set to finalize its acquisition of West Central Ag Services in the coming weeks following approval by over 70% of West Central’s members.
According to West Central officials the merger will offer immediate value to members through equity redemption and long-term benefits by connecting them to CHS’s expansive global markets, supply chains, and value-added processing capabilities. West Central will operate as a new business unit called CHS West Central,
CHS, headquartered in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, employs approximately 10,000 people worldwide and recorded $39 billion in revenue last fiscal year. The company views this merger as an opportunity to enhance market access for farmer-owners and expand its ag retail network, which serves 450 communities in 16 states.
