Eastern North Dakota is being hit with “treacherous and life-threatening” winter storm conditions which will continue into Wednesday evening.
Snow accumulation will likely be minimal, but winds potentially gusting up to 60 mph may reduce visibility to less than a half mile. Temperatures will dip into the low single digits across much of the region, with wind chills becoming extremely dangerous, dipping double-digits below zero. The storm’s impact is expected to cease around sunset on Wednesday.
Commuters should be ready for slick roads and debris from wind. The watch will remain in effect through 6 p.m. Travel during this time will likely by “treacherous and potentially life-threatening.” If travel is absolutely necessary, extreme caution should be exercised, including taking a winter storm kit in your vehicle.
