Jamestown Transportation Plan Approved, Long Distance Rail On Hold

In a unanimous decision, the Jamestown City Council approved both the 2026-29 State Transportation improvement plan and a zoning change on Monday.

The Transportation Plan includes projects like road repairs, reconstructions, and overlays on various streets and highways in Jamestown. The city will receive federal or state funding for these projects.

The long-distance passenger rail route was not added to the plan at this time, as more information is needed, as well as a project and its estimated cost and local share.

A property owned by Dale Fettig was rezoned from civic, institutional, recreation and tourism to general commercial, allowing Fettig to operate Dale’s A-1 Auto at the location. in other business, James Englund was a pointed to the Jamestown Planning commission.
