The Jamestown Police Department announced that Richard Garrett Staples, a 35-year-old resident, will reside at 401 4th St. SW No. 22.
He does not drive a vehicle and weighs 187 pounds. He is 5-foot-7 and has brown eyes and black hair. The North Dakota Sex Offender Risk Assessment Committee has determined Staples to be a high-risk offender.
He was charged with abusive sexual contact in a U.S. Federal Court in 2017 in a case involving a 6-year-old girl. In 2014, Staples was convicted of sexual abuse in a case with an adult woman. Staples is on parole and handouts with information on Staples are available at the Jamestown Police Department.
