A highway patrol vehicle was struck while parked on I-94 investigating a crash scene on Sunday.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a trooper had parked his Ford Explorer on the shoulder with his emergency lights on while at a crash scene on I-94 in Cass County.  While the trooper was outside of the vehicle investigating, a Toyota Sienna driven by a 49-year old Canadian woman swerved onto the shoulder and stuck the patrol vehicle in the rear.

The trooper and driver of the vehicle were unharmed.  The NDHP says the woman likely lost control on the icy highway.  They are investigating the incident.   No report on if charges have been filed at this time.
