As first mentioned by the Jamestown Sun and Grand Forks Herald, the North Dakota State Board of Higher Education and Bismarck State College President Doug Jensen are splitting up. The board did not disclose the reasons for Jensen leaving.

Board members voted unanimously to accept a separation agreement with Jensen Friday. Jensen was hired as president in March 2020 after Larry Skogen retired. Jensen had previously been the president of Rock Valley College in Illinois and the president of the Alabama Technology Network.

The board has not mentioned who will replace Jensen yet.
