Pitchers and catchers report for MLB’s spring training on February 12, and the Minnesota Twins are likely making moves. The Twins are expected to add three top 50 international prospects this month, as the international free agency opens on January 15.

Minnesota hopes to turn Venezuelan shortstops Santiago Leon and Haritzon Castillo into major leaguers one day. The Twins are also expected to sign Carlos Taveras, an outfielder from the Dominican Republic, during this period.

Taveras is just 16 years old, but Baseball America expects the prospect to sign on with a bonus of $1 to $1.5 million.
